Breaking News: Seth Rollins Out 6 to 9 Months due to Injury; WWE Title Vacated

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins has torn his ACL, MCL and medial meniscus

Social Media has been going crazy ever since word broke. WWE Champion Seth Rollins tore his right MCL, ACL and Medial Meniscus at a WWE event in Dublin, Ireland Wednesday. Due to the injury, he obviously won’t be able to defend the WWE Title against #1 Contender Roman Reigns so instead, the new WWE Champion will be decided in a tournament at Survivor Series.

Speaking of Roman Reigns, you might remember he was out of action last year for a few weeks after having emergency surgery the week after Thanksgiving. It makes me wonder if Dean Ambrose would be next around this time next year. It’s a pretty crazy coincidence at the very least.

Of course, this also means the storyline changes. Given the recent return of Alberto Del Rio at Hell in a Cell, it’s certainly possible he will be one of the Superstars involved in the contest for the vacated WWE Title. We may also see a surprise return or two–Randy Orton comes to mind for example. John Cena’s taking a break right now so folks can relax, he will not be involved. WWE’s been going out of its way to keep the WWE Title away from Cena all year so…yeah. Could Brock Lesnar suddenly be put back in the title picture? It’s certainly possible. He was the guy who German Suplexed the WWE Title off John Cena at Summer Slam 2014, after all.

When the WWE Title is vacated due to injury, the whole locker room is suddenly the #1 Contender!
